For the past several months, my husband and I engaged in growing mushrooms at home. We used Paul Stamets book "Growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms" as a guide and achieved some success. Just today we ate may be 10 or 12 mushrooms that we harvested from our home sawdust spawn.
It takes plenty of time, effort and money, since we have to buy commercial spawn and then sterilize sawdust until it is free from contaminants, and then we have to provide moisture and lightning etc., but it is fun to watch them grow. We also planted some mushrooms in our garden, but we will have to wait for several months until we know the result.

Leavenworth, WA
No, it is not about the famous prizon. Leavenworth is a Bavarian village surrounded by beautiful mountains in the Washington state. People go there to see snow in winter, to ski and of course to drink beer.
It has very European look and many residents there are of German descent.
Unfortunately, Michael was not well and didn't express any joy on seeing the snow.
He didn't even want to make a snowman or play in the snow. This is why there aren't many pictures - we had to carry him most of the time and try to make him happy.
But we had some fun snowshoeing. Michael spent this time in his Ergo carrier.
